Dark Night Of The Soul update…

Sex Pistols – EMI

Sex Pistols – EMI

it’s a shaaaaame, the way you mess around with my heart… turns out that soon-to-be-released Dark Night of the Soul album from Dangermouse and Sparklehorse and a bunch of other musical luminaries that i’ve already mentioned in this post here will not at this time be seeing the light of day. according to Pitchfork, record label EMI is threatening to sue if it is released…  for now, the full album is available for streaming here at NPR, but who knows how long that will last, so do what you gotta do, internet pirates of the world.
good thing us Angelenos still have the upcoming David Lynch exhibit at Michael Kohn Gallery to look forward to. maybe there will even be some ill gotten goods that might be distributed to the masses there from the Dark Night Of The Soul group… it seems likely. hell hath no fury like an artist scorned, and the event seems to still be on for Saturday the 30th. as a matter of fact, here’s a new flier i got in the email today hyping the evening. so i’ll probably see you there. wear some riot gear, it might prove to be a dangerous evening full of music pirating and RIAA shock troops.
