Thom Yorke Starts a ‘Supergroup’ with Flea on Bass… And They’re Coming to LA!

Earlier this month we brought you news of the exciting new supergroup, Them Crooked Vultures, comprised of Josh Homme, John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl. Hooray for stoner-rock. Today we are equally excited (even though we are lacking any listenable material…) to give you Thom Yorke’s newest venture, an unnamed band consisting of himself, producer Nigel Godrich, multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, Joey Waronker (drummer for Beck and R.E.M.), and motherfuckin Flea… That same Flea who slappa da bass for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In an announcement today on Radiohead’s official website, Yorke said “in the past couple of weeks i’ve been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.” Have you listened to Eraser‘s thick bassy swirls? Can you imagine Flea helping out on bass? Good lord.

Perhaps the most exciting news is that they’re coming to LA next week! That’s right, next Sunday and Monday evening you can be part of the lucky group who gets to see Unnamed Supergroup‘s first live show @ The Orpheum Theater in LA! See below for ticket info. Tickets go on sale at 10 am TODAY, pacific time:

Sunday 10/04
Monday 10/05
