in the mood for an avant garde operatic piece of performance art! of course you are! The Knife has released their new album, Tomorrow, In A Year, a scoring collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock for a Danish opera based on Charles Darwin and his ‘On The Origin Of Species’ treatise. doesn’t that get you in the mood to dance? it’s available for streaming right now at their website here, and there are also links to purchase it from iTunes et al. i heartily recommend people preview this one before they buy. A Letter To Henslow, for instance, is more or less two minutes of bird calls. i like it, but it probably plays a lot better with the actual performance.

Created for The Knife and commissioned by Rabid Records, this ambient track in neutral tones, spins a spell of love and it’s complexities enveloped in the texture of the environment.
