I like The Very Best. I like them because their music is infectiously happy and it helps me through the frigid New York winters (waaaahhh I hate you LA). Here’s Very Best’s frontman Esau Mwamwaya with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend doing “Warm Heart of Africa” and it looks like the two of them are having a blast poppin and lockin around the streets of NYC (is that canal street?). I smell a buddy-cop comedy in their future.

This Martin Luther King Jr weekend, the man behind the ?uestion mark is gonna throw down a serious BK warehouse party.

If you wanna get up close and personal with the dude who packs stadiums then now’s your chance. ?uestlove will be doing a special DJ tribute to MLK this Sunday (1/17) at The Can Factory in Brooklyn. It will be a night full of sweaty, soulful, baby-making, happy-time, groovin music.

I love the album, I love the short & sweet track. But Raekwon’s new video for “Pyrex Vision” is literally just shots of a few curvaceous naked chicks whippin up a fresh supply. Dreaming of a WHITE Christmas?

Stumbled across this amazing short film by Tim Burton, narrated by Vincent Price, about a boy who wants to BE Vincent Price. It was created in 1982 (wayyy before CG animation) and here’s some fun trivia, between the 1:17 and 1:25 minute marks you can see an early form of the character Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas…which came out 10 years later.

Todd James aka REAS is having a New York exhibition, “Make My Burden Lighter,” opening January 15th at the Gering & Lopez Gallery, reception is from 6 to 8pm. It’s about time!
