this is too amazing. i love Think Geek. they have that Tauntaun Sleeping Bag that we mentioned way back when for April Fool’s Day, too, and now it’s real. i did most of my xxxmas shopping there, and now that i’ve blogged about it, this holiday is a total tax write off! jesus satan, sticking it to the man since 1976.
Perhaps the most ridiculous animation I’ve ever seen?
Named after the song that plays in the background, Trucker’s Delight (by FLAIRS) is an homage to the little things in life that truckers enjoy… such as tits, ass, and boners. It was created with 8-bit sega-era graphics by newcomer Jérémie Périn, who proves he has a hell of a sense of humor. If 8-bit boobies don’t fly at your office, you have a shitty office, so don’t watch this:
Happy Friday the 13th! Ahhhhhh!! Eminem is returning to Hollywood! AHHHHHHHH! He’s playing the lead role in a 3-D horror flick called Shady Talez! YaaaAAAA! Look how they spelled Tales!! Yes this is all true, and the above image is part of a 4-issue Marvel comic series that will accompany the movie. No word on a release date yet…
Dan Deacon HOSPITALIZED! Whoa. Apparently he performs with such ferocity that he totally fucked up his back and had to cancel the rest of his tour.
A post on the Facebook page for Deacon’s show at Clark University tomorrow night says, “DAN DEACON HAS POSTPONED THIS SHOW on 11/14/2009 DUE TO HOSPITALIZATION WITH ACUTE SCIATICA. THE SHOW WILL BE RESCHEDULED TO JANUARY.” – Pitchfork
Beanie Sigel ft. 50 Cent – I Go Off
The Beanie Sigel vs. Jay-Z feud just got ridiculous…Sigel went and recruited 50 Cent and they put together a shall-we-say, ‘gutter,’ diss track for Mr. Empire State himself. That snarling Beanie Sigel has a lot of anger towards jigga, I’m still not really sure why, but if jay doesn’t respond it’s gonna be pretty…anti-climactic. Especially after 50 calls him out at the end: “It’s your move.”
Is everyone excited for New Moon!?
And for all you New Yorkers willing to brave this icy weather, here’s what’s going on in the music world tonight:
If you’ve ever wondered what scream-o and shitty club music sounded like together??? Wait no more. Abortion survivors brokeNCYDE have tapped into a genre that was never asking to be made… much like them.
I’ve heard of the upcoming LeBron James documentary,More Than A Game, (coming October 2nd) but I’m still not sure why it exists… isn’t it a little early to start making movies about the dude’s life at this point? It’s like making a film about TINT’s rise to the top of the hipster kingdom… jeez at least wait til I get there. Last time I checked LBJ doesn’t even have a ring soo let’s all hold off on the BJ’s for a second. If you’re interested, you can listen to King James talk about the flick here… apparently it’s focused on his High School career or something.
Anyway, since this is basketball and not hockey, the film will have a G’d up hip hop soundtrack. The video below is the latest from Hype Williams for Drake’s song, “Forever” featuring. Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne, & Eminem, it’s the featured song for the movie… I don’t really get the “hype” behind Hype Williams, I mean besides “Belly” and “California Love” I think he basically wallows in mediocrity, am I right? Oh and I can’t forget Missy Elliot’s “The Rain”… fantastic. And Nas’s “Hate Me Now”… haha and he made Busta Rhymes “Woo Hah!” ok I get it, he’s a master of the fisheye.
T-Pain has an iPhone app: “I Am T-Pain”…clearly, it’s a hit.
Maybe they’re exploiting women… maybe they’re exploiting mexican laborers… maybe they’re exploiting the American name. Who cares? Sex sells: American Apparel’s 50 Hottest Ads.
Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 drops on 9/11. How s(l)ick are the marketing folks at RocNation? Guarantee his album release will be the second thought on everyone’s minds this September, esp. in NY. “Ohh what a tragic anniversary of that horrible day…hey doesn’t Blueprint 3 drop today? Yayyy let’s go drown our sorrows to jigga man’s block rockin beats and pop-friendly hits!” I mean, I’m excited, but “Run This Town” is T-R-A-S-H. Oh yeah, and one of his 12 guest spots is from Luke Steele, of the powerpop-glam-duo Empire of the Sun. At least he gave up on Coldplay…
