There are no others there is only us – Jacaszek
it’s sad, but even as beautiful as this is, i just don’t have the patience for an eleven minute video anymore. people used to bitch about tv making everyone all ADD, but the internet has just KILLED it. music by Jacaszek (who all you New Yorkers just missed at the Unsound Festival), video directed by Marc Silver (who has a ton more videos on his site. Ageless Sex is particularly uplifting/disturbing).
There are no others there is only us from Michal Jacaszek on Vimeo.
Weekend Videos: The Very Best and Vampire Weekend.
I like The Very Best. I like them because their music is infectiously happy and it helps me through the frigid New York winters (waaaahhh I hate you LA). Here’s Very Best’s frontman Esau Mwamwaya with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend doing “Warm Heart of Africa” and it looks like the two of them are having a blast poppin and lockin around the streets of NYC (is that canal street?). I smell a buddy-cop comedy in their future.
?uestlove Brings the Bass to Brooklyn This Weekend.
This Martin Luther King Jr weekend, the man behind the ?uestion mark is gonna throw down a serious BK warehouse party.
If you wanna get up close and personal with the dude who packs stadiums then now’s your chance. ?uestlove will be doing a special DJ tribute to MLK this Sunday (1/17) at The Can Factory in Brooklyn. It will be a night full of sweaty, soulful, baby-making, happy-time, groovin music.

TONIGHT and the next couple of nights: nerrrrddsssss!!! NYC, here’s your chance to take Passion Pit’s lunch money
here’s a slick video from the amazing if somewhat bookwormish Passion Pit for the single To Kingdom Come. they’re hitting Terminal 5 tonight and tomorrow and Sunday, although everything is all sold out, so if you big bullies want to beat them up for being such geeks, then you’ll have to wait for them out back in the alley. these guys are total, TOTAL dorks, but i have to admit that i wish i was as cool as them.
free music from Groove Armada, Charlotte Gainsbourg and The Antlers
next, the ever lovely Charlotte Gainsbourg is offering a free Nosaj Thing remix of her Beck-backed single Heaven Can Wait via her mailing list which you can sign up for here. you probably have to do this one fast. the email came in this morning.
and last but CERTAINLY not least, jesus satan favs The Antlers (who are hitting LA again as support for the Editors at the Wiltern in February 2010, tickets here) are offering an amazing and certified bootleg of their final show of the year at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC from NYCTAPER.
