i have no idea what Fol Chen means so i’m sorry but you’re not getting a joke about their name and i’m sure you’re all torn up about it @ The Echo with Random Patterns (yay! – the vid above for Psychic Luau super sucks but i CANNOT GET ENOUGH of this song. it’s the feel good song of the summer for me.) and Pizza! opening
In this animated noir, a man’s obsession with key lime pie brings him to the brink of insanity and a chance encounter with the grim reaper.
Directed by Trevor Jimenez.
David OReilly did some neat Lady Gag 3D animation portraits. there are more from the series here (click on “view fullscreen”) and some very, um, ABSTRACT ones that were rejected here. also, here’s some weirdness from his Sesame Street/Aniboom’s Animate to Educate animation contest entry (vote for the winners here). i think we can take a stab in the dark and wish him our condolences for not winning. also also, check out a fun little animator protest to Sesame Street here.
jesus satan is going to have endless nightmares about this, i can already tell. more from Cyriak (music and videos) at his YouTube channel. (i recommend his quite frightening animation mix here.)
Stumbled across this amazing short film by Tim Burton, narrated by Vincent Price, about a boy who wants to BE Vincent Price. It was created in 1982 (wayyy before CG animation) and here’s some fun trivia, between the 1:17 and 1:25 minute marks you can see an early form of the character Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas…which came out 10 years later.
This is absolutely magnificent. No Mas hired artist James Blagden to animate the story of Dock Ellis’ 1970 no hitter… that he pitched while “high as a Georgia pine” on LSD. Proving that steroids aren’t the ONLY drug in baseball.
Paper Nikes by David Brownings. Just GLUE IT! …I’ll stop now.
Awesome money hats made from the world’s currency.
Jason Segal sings a hilarious song about trying to have sex with a Swell Season fan in LA. He includes his working phone number.
“Remember when I showed my penis in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Well there were no special effects…”
