here is the annual fake Coachella lineup for 2010 (thanks Los Anjealous). jesus satan will shit his pants if Faith No More is there, and i’m guessing that a lot of these other bands are actually pretty solid bets. The xx, Major Lazer, and Vampire Weekend are all a given. Public Image Ltd is a good possibility, as is Devo, The Antlers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Imogen Heap and La Roux. i also wouldn’t be surprised about LCD Soundsystem and Massive Attack, both have new albums coming out this year - R.I.P. Jerry Fuchs : o (

i can’t think of a better way to celebrate America then by living in the past. there’s a big line up of rockabilly swingers (that would be an amazing porn site) at Hootenanny 2009… Reverend Horton Heat, Los Lobos (awesome), Nekromantix (though they’re not on the flier), HorrorPops, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Supersuckers, Blasters, 3 Bad Jacks, Roger Alan Wade, Lee Rocker, Dusty Rhodes and the River Band and plenty more at the Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine, CA. (there’s an excellent old video from the Rev Horton Heat below this massive flier. fun to watch if only for it’s punk rock production value, so check it out.)

i was already pretty excited to see Antony and the Johnsons at Coachella, and now my hackles have been raised even more, as Antony has announced he will be playing with electronic virtuouso Matthew Herbert. Antony’s performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic last year was one of the most truly beautiful things that i’ve ever seen, and Herbert’s edit of Bjork’s Pagan Poetry lists as one of my favorite remixes of all time (minimal, repetitive and aggressive, it puts me in a sweet, sweet coma every time…). ah, Coachella, my holy days come near.
