RSVP here and it’s five bucks to get in to Clasixxx tonight at La Cita. also, if you’re heading to the desert this weekend for this Coachella show i keep hearing about, then Vice is throwing a big par-tay also with 25¢ tequila and some bands that weren’t cool enough to be on the actual lineup. cheap tequila will mix well with your comedown from all the shrooms and peyote, i’m sure. the vomiting should be legendary. WTTD pal Tony Acosta Jr is one of a select group of artists chosen by Global Inheritance to paint some garbage cans. um, yeah. the bins are destined for next week’s Coachella Festival, so tonight they’re having an opening at POVevolving to showcase the sixty plus works of art before they get all messed up with, well, garbage. come on down, celebrate recycling and stuff, and then head off next week to the really big Coachella show. (p.s. sorry i’ve been out of touch, America. jesus satan got hit by a car on his bike and i’ve been somewhat out of commission. i’ll be back soon…)

this video gets all freea-kay around the halfway mark, so it’s worth staying with, y’all. (not too often you get to see old men sticking eels into an iron lung anus… unless you spend a lot of time looking at Japanese porn.) Congratulations, the new album (you can preview in it’s entirety on the MGMT site here, or, you know, you could just download it) isn’t particularly bad, but it’s a somewhat lackluster follow up to Oracular Spectacular, which is pretty much a pop masterpiece. they went all acid-laced Beatles and shit, which is so hipster it’s practically off the hipster swine charts. check it out, let me know what you think… i call meh.

here’s some new goofiness from the Yeasayer and directors Radical Friend team effort. more or less a sci-fi-ish accompaniment to the highly  recommended Ambling Alp experience, O.N.E. is the second single off of their new album, Odd Blood. they’ll be back for Coachella (tickets here) if you missed them at Nat’l History Museum’s First Friday last month. (lord knows jesus satan did.)

Zooey Deschanel is so cute. i just want to punch her in those sweet little eyes. She & Him (i.e. Zooey and M. Ward) are playing around LA over the next month with shows at Largo (sold out), the El Rey (sold out) and the Glass House (sold out) to warm up for Coachella on the 16th, which is apparently the only way you’ll get to see them. or you can just watch the new video for In The Sun.
