Interpol sees the Lights

June 23rd, 2010

you can download the video in HD at Interpol’s site here.
We’d like to share with you our clip for Lights directed by Mr. Charlie White. Before this clip is available anywhere else, we’re posting it here as an HD download, free for you. We’re amazed by it, and think you’ll enjoy seeing it as the director intended it to be seen – in high quality. It takes a couple minutes to download, but trust us, it is worth it. And…we’ll be heading back out on the Stateside road come late July and through most of August.  We can’t wait to pick up where we’re leaving off this week. Here’s a list of the summertime towns that we’ll be hitting. (view.)
Love always,
Interpol

TONIGHT: London based Fanfarlo sextets up the Troubadour

September 15th, 2009

Fanfarlo, the London based indie/ folk pop sextet’s debut album, Resevoir,  sounds a lot like David Byrne meets Arcade Fire. Produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) and lead by Sweedish singer/ songwritter Simon Balthazar, Resevoir is chock full of well-crafted yet simple songs which make heavy use of trumpets, violins, guitars, drums, xylophones, saws (yes, saws) and banjos (yes, banjos). The entire album can be downloaded on iTunes currently for only $5.99 ( a wise investment), and you can also check them out live tonight at the Troubadour.  Even David Bowie claimed Fanfarlo one of his favorite new bands back in March (you realize I just name dropped David Bowie, which is why I’m able to keep this post short and sweet, like a chocolate covered midget).

The song below for “I’m A Pilot” speaks for itself.

Interpol’s Paul Banks “daring” new solo project…

August 27th, 2009

With all the originality of Stephen Colbert posing for an endless fire mantle portrait of himself comes…. Paul Banks’, lead singer of Interpol, solo work: Julian Plenti is… Skyscraper. To be honest… it ain’t so bad, just slightly off Interpol’s beaten path. It seems to be a more personal album for Paul err.. Julian. The girls love his voice, the guys love… well shit I’ll say it, his voice. There are some sweet moments on the album with “H” and “Madrid Song” being current favorites of mine. Album was released on August 3rd, 2009 from Matador.

Here’s “Games for Days“…
