The Dead Weather’s First Music Video.

July 13th, 2009

jack white and allison moss video
This video has swagger out the wazoo. Jack White’s new supergroup, The Dead Weather, is dropping their debut album, Horehound, tomorrow. The video is directed by Jonathan Glazer, who also directed Sexy Beast and several Radiohead videos (including motherfucking “Street Spirit”, considered by some to be the greatest music video ever, do yourself a favor and go watch it here if you haven’t already) among other things.

The Dead Weather – Treat Me Like Your Mother

With their debut album, Horehound, quickly approaching its July 14th release, The Dead Weather (Third Man Records latest supergroup: Jack White (The White Stripes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) and Dean Fertita) have announced the uncensored Cinemax debut of their short film for latest single, “Treat Me Like Your Mother“.  Directed by Jonathan Glazer, the groundbreaking short will premiere in its entirety on July 11th at 9:55pm on the premium cable channel.  The clip will mark only the second time Cinemax has ever premiered a music video.

Jack White Has ANOTHER Band: The Dead Weather.

April 7th, 2009

(yeah james bond…)

Jack White’s new band, the Dead Weather (nice.) is playing it’s first show in… drum roll please… LOS ANG… nah just kidding, New York’s Bowery Room. The date is set for April 14th and the venue can’t accomadate a crowd larger than about 600 people. Tickets on sale tomorrow, Wednesday April 8th. Prepare to be disappointed when they sell out.

Jack White has become one of my favorite artists of the decade for the following reasons:
a) The White Stripes
b) The Raconteurs
c) A cameo as Elvis in Walk Hard

So let me break this new group down: Jack White on DRUMS (who needs meg?) and vocals, Alison Mosshart of The Kills (who’s “Last Day of Magic” was an easy top 5 track of 2008 for me) joining him on vocals, The Raconteurs‘ bass player Jack Lawrence, and Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age on guitar. Another all-star collection with potential out the wazoo. You can stream 2 new tracks on the website, including “Hang You From The Heavens.” I predict happy things. In a dark, depressing manner of course.
