Dan Deacon HOSPITALIZED! Whoa. Apparently he performs with such ferocity that he totally fucked up his back and had to cancel the rest of his tour.
A post on the Facebook page for Deacon’s show at Clark University tomorrow night says, “DAN DEACON HAS POSTPONED THIS SHOW on 11/14/2009 DUE TO HOSPITALIZATION WITH ACUTE SCIATICA. THE SHOW WILL BE RESCHEDULED TO JANUARY.” – Pitchfork

Beanie Sigel ft. 50 Cent – I Go Off
The Beanie Sigel vs. Jay-Z feud just got ridiculous…Sigel went and recruited 50 Cent and they put together a shall-we-say, ‘gutter,’ diss track for Mr. Empire State himself. That snarling Beanie Sigel has a lot of anger towards jigga, I’m still not really sure why, but if jay doesn’t respond it’s gonna be pretty…anti-climactic. Especially after 50 calls him out at the end: “It’s your move.”

Obviously I’m not putting the songs up here, but the friendly folks over at Manolith offer some lovely advice on how to go about finding it:
“While you won’t find the leaked album here, you could, if you wanted, try Googling “megaupload” or “rapidshare” + “blueprint 3? and you’ll … oh nevermind.”
Next week on September 11th, 8 years from the anniversary of the attacks as well as the release of The Blueprint, Jay-Z will be putting on a 9/11 charity concert at MSG titled, “Answer The Call.” Proceeds (they’re hoping to raise about $750,000) will go to the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. TICKETS GO ON SALE SEPTEMBER 8TH for $50. That’s a hot ticket.

Fuck yes. All Points West just got better, jigga man is replacing the Beastie Boys next Friday, July 31st. Big week for the retiree Mr. S. Carter, he’s promoting the upcoming Blueprint 3 and he just dropped a pop-friendly-as-hell new single, “Run This City” with Rihanna and Kanye, listen here. Shitty week for Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, he’s got cancer. Here’s the video of him announcing it, they look like your dad’s friends:
Music Monday you are oh-so-groovy.
This is our first edition so it will be brief, but sexy nonetheless. In the future we’ll delve a little deeper but for now just know that I recommend all of these albums, with a little extra love for Ocarina of Rhyme (but that doesn’t really count because it’s a gimmick using artists I already enjoy over music that was engrained into my brain when I was like…9 years old).
On with the music! I acquired these albums this past weekend with help from Pitchfork, Insound, eMusic and 8tracks.com. 3/4 of them have incredible titles:
Bat For Lashes – Two Suns (steadily growing on me and I don’t mind spending time with her…)
Daniel – Bat For Lashes
Cymbals Eat Guitars – Why There Are Mountains (#2 best selling album at Insound and eMusic this week)
And The Hazy Sea – Cymbals Eat Guitars
Bill Callahan – Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle (Awesome lyricist)
Eid Ma Clack Shaw – Bill Callahan
Team Teamwork – The Ocarina of Rhyme
This last one is a mix of classic rappers with classic beats from…Legend Of Zelda! Includes Jay-Z, Dre & Snoop, Aesop Rock, Clipse and more. You can listen to it ALL below:
