the “universe’s greatest tribute” to Guns ‘N Roses, Mr. Brownstone, is playing tonight at the Troubadour. featuring members of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, which is reason enough for me to see anything, it promises to be an evening full of ever so cheeky hesher humor, a la Steel Panther (or whatever they’re calling themselves today). serious, funny, either way it will rule and maybe even give you a chance to hit on some old hair metal chicks. most importantly, it gives ME a chance to post one of my favorite songs of all time, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s Jesus Satan Said Dance (i’ll give you a live version since you already have the album and if you don’t shame on you young man!). yes, believe me, i could post any and every GNR song ever made, but that’s just too obvious. believe you me, jesus satan was a young mullet-haired rocker, and i haven’t forgotten my roots, but i’ll go for the underground option every time. and no, it’s not because i’m scared of the RIAA. (um, RIAA, sir, i mean…) ***update, Gram Rabbit has been added as direct support for the Mr.Brownstone show***
