damn, those Yeasayer kids are going to be kind of a big deal, and Warpaint kind of rulz the schulz, too, so i was really looking forward to tonights First Fridays‘ double header tonight at the Natural History Museum. (Deer Tick closes out the season on March 5th.) oh well, as compensation here’s a bunch of awesome Yeasayer-ness. firstly, their new album, Odd Blood, which has finally released, is available right now to preview in its entirety on their Myspace page here, and it’s also available for download in a variety of packages here. some really great stuff, although nothing as stellar as their Ambling Alp single, NSFW video of which is below. which brings me to my second note. check out the naked psychedelica weirdness of their Ambling Alp Single experience that’s meant to accompany the video at their site here. kind of like watching porn while you drop some acid. A post on the Facebook page for Deacon’s show at Clark University tomorrow night says, “DAN DEACON HAS POSTPONED THIS SHOW on 11/14/2009 DUE TO HOSPITALIZATION WITH ACUTE SCIATICA. THE SHOW WILL BE RESCHEDULED TO JANUARY.” – Pitchfork

Beanie Sigel ft. 50 Cent – I Go Off

The Beanie Sigel vs. Jay-Z feud just got ridiculous…Sigel went and recruited 50 Cent and they put together a shall-we-say, ‘gutter,’ diss track for Mr. Empire State himself. That snarling Beanie Sigel has a lot of anger towards jigga, I’m still not really sure why, but if jay doesn’t respond it’s gonna be pretty…anti-climactic. Especially after 50 calls him out at the end: “It’s your move.”
